Updated: Bucco now ahead by 1,582 votes, but Draeger still narrowly ahead of Dunn in Assembly race

Democrats still up in freeholder contest; Biden carrying Morris by more than 11 points so far

State Sen. Anthony M. Bucco (R-Boonton) has expanded his lead to 1,273 votes over Democrat Rupande Mehta in the 25th district special election, but Democrat Darcy Draeger is 754 votes ahead of incumbent Aura Dunn (R-Mendham) in the Assembly race.

Bucco is in front of Dunn, 37,823 to 36,241, 51%-49%.  Bucco was 316 votes ahead of Mehta on Friday.

Draeger leads 37,034 to 36,280, 50.4%-49.6%.  On Friday, Draeger was up 1,560 votes.

It’s still not clear how many votes remain uncounted, but one source suggested that number could be as high as 40,000.

In the race for Morris County Freeholder, Democrat Cary Amaro is still ahead.

Amaro leads Republican incumbent Tayfun Selen by 5,980 votes, 83,144 to 77,164, 51.8%-48.2%.  She was 6,460 votes in front of Selen on Friday.

Joe Biden has a 53.5%-42.9% lead over Donald Trump in Morris County, a plurality of 15,824 votes.  Cory Booker has a 54%-45% lead in Morris against Republican Rik Mehta.

In the Morris County portion of New Jersey’s 11th district, Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) is running 16,032 votes ahead of Republican Rosemary Becchi, 56%-44%.

Republican Tom Kean, Jr. is ahead of Rep. Tom Malinowski by 518 votes in the Morris portion of NJ-7.
