Senate President Steve Sweeney will sponsor a version of Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick’s bill to reimburse restaurants impacted by the delay to the return of indoor dining, the New Jersey Globe has learned.

Gov. Phil Murphy postponed the return of indoor dining indefinitely on Monday over concerns that bars and restaurants were, in part, driving the growing number of COVID-19 cases in other states around the country.

On Wednesday, Bramnick announced his intent to introduce a measure to reimburse restaurants that had spent money on supplies in preparation for indoor dining’s return, which was set to hit on July 2.
