Assemblyman Gerard Scharfenberger (R-Middletown) was the top Republican Assembly fundraiser in his district, but Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (R-Holmdel) brought in more than a Holmdel schools official tapped to replace her on the county line.
Scharfenberger reported raising $24,900 between May 8 and May 25 and had $55,240 left in his war chest, according to 11-day pre-primary reports filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
DiMaso raised $17,600 and had $24,690 left on hand.
Holmdel School Board President Vicky Flynn reported raising $8,020 and had $12,465 left in her war chest.
Monmouth County Republican Chairman Shaun Golden dropped DiMaso from the county line this year, replacing her with Flynn. DiMaso had butted heads with the party leader, endorsing slates of local candidates in Holmdel against ones backed by Golden.
