The New Jersey Globe is projecting that Democratic incumbents Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and Anthony Verrelli have been re-elected to the New Jersey State Assembly in the 15th district.
They defeated Republican Jennifer Williams, who had sought to become New Jersey’s first openly transgender legislator.
The two incumbents have now won their first full terms.
Reynolds-Jackson won a special election last year after Elizabeth Muoio was named State Treasurer. Verrelli won his seat following Reed Gusciora’s election as Mayor of Trenton.
