State Sen. Joseph Cryan (D-Union) has won the endorsement of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, one of the state’s most politically dominant building trades unions.

Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE Local 825 released the following statement:

“Senator Cryan has a proven track record supporting the hard-working women and men of the buildings trades at every level of government,” said Greg Lalevee, the IUOE Local 825 business administrator.  “Whether fighting for worker fairness, organizing rights and infrastructure investment, Joe has always been there for Local 825 members and their families. We are proud to support his re-election to the Senate.”

Cryan faces a Democratic primary challenge from Assemblyman Jamel Holley (D-Roselle) and science teacher Jason Krychiw.

The freshman senator has already won endorsements from the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, the New Jersey Education Association, the Communications Workers of America, and the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
