Democrats running in the 38th legislative district are focused on affordability and abortion rights in their first TV ad.
State Sen. Joe Lagana (D-Paramus) narrates the ad, “Fair Shot,” which features his running mates Assemblyman Chris Tully (D-Bergenfield) and Assemblywoman Lisa Swain (D-Fair Lawn).
The ad takes place in Lagana’s kitchen, where he and his running mates prepare dinner and discuss what they have done to cut property taxes, to lower prescription drug prices, and to protect abortion access.
Script: “Solving our toughest problems? It takes a team. Focusing on the details. Listening first. Asking the tough questions. Coming together to get the job done. That’s us: Chris Tully, Lisa Swain, and me – Joe Lagana. The team working so Bergen families have a fair shot. Cutting property taxes. Lowering the cost of prescription drugs. Protecting a woman’s right to choose. Together, there is no problem too big, no ask too small, when you work every day for your family.”
The 38th Democrats have already released a digital ad that focused on protecting abortion access. Last week, Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed all three candidates.
Democrats increasingly view abortion as pivotal to succeeding in November; in the competitive 16th, Democrats have also focused heavily on abortion in their ads.
