Returned vote-by-mail ballots in the 25th district are right around the state average, with 38.1% of them returned so far.

Democrats continue to hold a small edge in 6.270 returned VBMs, 44.7% to 38.3%, in district where Republicans have held both Assembly seats since 1980.

There are still 10,181 unreturned ballots of the 16,451 mailed out.  Of the remaining ballots, 35.4% are from Democrats, 30.4% from Republicans and 33.6% from Unaffiliated voters.

State Sen. Anthony M. Bucco (R-Boonton) is fighting to keep his Assembly seat, even though he has no plans to serve.  He moved up to the Senate earlier this month following the death of his father.

Bucco and Denville Councilman Brian Bergen face Democrats Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger.

There are 7,801 more Republicans than Democrats in the 25th district.
