Monday Morning New Jersey, the group that sent out a direct mail piece tying Jon Bramnick and Nancy Munoz to Donald Trump and Chris Christie is run by Democratic fundraiser Raymond Ferraioli, Jr.
Ferraioli initially started the group in 2012 as NJ 4Ward, a 501(c)4 tax exempt group that files with the Internal Revenue Service. In the past, it has disclosed donors and expenditures.
NJ 4Ward has also used the name Monday Morning New Jersey since 2016, IRS records show.
According to a 2015 POLITICO report, the group had ties to Ryan Graham, the head of a politically active insurance firm, and to Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop.
A 2018 tax return filed with the IRS showed net assets of $122,046.
Monday Morning New Jersey has received contributions from CLB Partners, a Trenton lobbying firm, and North Jersey accountant Steve Wielkotz this year.
Earlier today, NJ Spotlight’s John Reitmeyer tweeted, “Who are you, ‘Monday Morning NJ?’ #DarkMoney,” despite easily-found reports on the IRS website.
The independent expenditure in the 21st district criticized Bramnick and Munoz for their A rating from the National Rifle Association, and slammed Bramnick for language on his law firm website that touts their willingness to discredit victims of sexual assault when representing the defendant.
