Former Bay Head council president D’Arcy Rohan Green has dropped her bid for State Assembly in the 10th district.

Green had sough the Republican nomination for the open seat of Assemblyman David Wolfe (R-Brick), who is stepping down after 28 years in the legislature.

On Saturday, the Ocean County Republican screening committee recommended Brick Republican Club president John Catalano for the seat.

“We didn’t get the outcome we wanted in this round, but we must look forward,” said Green.  “We ran a campaign that talked about the issues that are important to New Jersey. Even though this campaign has ended, we must keep pushing our ideas forward.

Green said she spoke Catalano and Ocean County GOP chairman George Gilmore and offered her support.

“Fighting for New Jersey was never an overnight task. I still believe in our core Republican values and I still believe we can push those values forward here in New Jersey,” Green said. “The Democrats are promising an all out battle to turn Ocean County blue in 2019.  We can’t let that happen.  Regardless of what side we were on one day, one week or one month ago – we’re all Republicans today.  Our job now is to achieve victory in November.”
