Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick has pulled down a section of his law firm website pledging to discredit victims of sexual assault just hours after defending the content.

POLITICO reported on Thursday that Bramnick sought to distance himself from website text, while at the same time defending it.

“This is what we do — or, I should say, this is what my partners do,” Bramnick told the news site. “You want a criminal defense lawyer who’s going to be aggressive to someone who’s lying about you.”

But soon after, the Bramnick firm pulled the Sexual Assault Defense section of the website entirely.

Among other things, the text said that “we will investigate your case and seek to discredit your accuser.”

The longtime Republican legislator also told POLITICO that he was not part of his firm’s criminal law practice, although his own website says he was.
