Tina Raia, wife of ex-GOP State Chairman, dies at 71

Tina Raia, the wife of former New Jersey Republican State Chairman Samuel Raia, died on September 5,  She was 71.

Active in the communities where she lived, Raia served as president of the Montville Home and School Association and serving and preparing meals for the homeless at the Bergen County Community Action Center.  She was a Eucharistic Minister and a Dame Commander with Star of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre.

Rai served as FIrst Lady of Saddle River during the eight years her husband served as mayor.  She attended the 2012 and 2016 Republican National Conventions.

She is survived by her husband, four children and eleven grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at St. Gabriel the Archangel RC Church in Saddle River. Funeral Mass will be at 10AM  Monday at the church.
