Rosemarie Gusciora, a former Jamesburg Board of Education member and the mother of former Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora, died on January 12. She was 91.
Gusciora spent 30 years as a municipal court administrator and served as president of the Middlesex County Court Administrators Association.
She worked in advertising sales for a community newspaper in Monroe and was active in local Democratic campaigns. Gusciora served as secretary of the National Civilian Conservation Corps.
Gusciora won a school board seat in 1964 and served a single three-year term.
In 1965, when a Jamesburg High School teacher sought maternity leave, Gusciora was the lone member of the nine-member board to support the move. As a result, the teacher was forced to resign.
In addition to her son, she is survived by her daughter, Holly and many nieces and nephews.
