Oliver Tribute: Louise-Scott Roundtree

Newark City Councilwoman Louise Scott-Roundtree released the following statement on the death of Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver:

“Sending sincere condolences to and praying for her mother, siblings, and all who were connected to or were blessed by the works and courage of our trailblazing shero Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver whose shoulders myself and many stand. We thank God for the many seasons she served and her love for humanity, never being fearful of speaking truth to power. Thank you God for the spirit you bestowed upon us on earth by way of being the first African American woman to serve on many platforms, Our city, Our State, Our country and Our world are heartbroken by her transitioning but God knew best and she has received a Greater reward to be in the presence of God.”
