Lt. Gov. Oliver was a dear friend of considerable intellect who always conducted herself with honor and dignity and showed respect to political adversaries too often missing in today’s political discourse. During our service together, Sheila offered me the opportunity to serve in elevated leadership roles in the chamber, and I have such gratitude for the confidence she showed in me. The legacy of Sheila Oliver’s trailblazing public service tenure will be etched in our state’s history, and I will dearly miss my good friend.”
