Oliver Tribute: Andrés Acebo

New Jersey City University Interim President Andrés Acebo released the following statement on the death of Lieutenant Gov. Sheila Oliver:

“Few can shape history with grace and the genuine servant leadership to leave things better than they found them. Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver was a kind and fierce advocate whose example is worthy of emulation by everyone with a heart and mind dedicated to service and community. She made us better.

She was a trailblazer who pulled her community forward along with her.

On our beautifully diverse and vibrant campus the power of her example and legacy will continue to illuminate the path for the tens of thousands that will follow her because of what she so compassionately championed.”
