In Memoriam

Leslie Wilcox, who served as a West Long Branch councilman from 1984 to 1987, died on July 15.  He was 102.  He also served on the Shore Regional High School Board of Education.

Mark Groninger, a former Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor, died on July 13.  He was 67.

Lewis Stein, the first public defender for Morris, Sussex and Warren counties in the 1960s, died on July 15.  He was 83.  Stein is a former president of the Morris County Bar Association.

Dee Zarro, an administrative assistant to several Superior Court Judges during a career that spanned 40 years, died on July 14.  She was 89.  Her late father, John Salvato, served as Newark Seventh Ward Democratic Chairman for 18 years.

Janet Carter, the mother of former Union County Surrogate candidate Lisa McCormick, died on July 15.  She was 72.

Mickey Saunders, the great-grandson of Dumont’s fourth mayor, Robert Dixon, died on July 19.  He was 89.
