In Memoriam: Teacher’s union leader; former mayor; former reporter

Charles Moffett III, a former president of the Ocean County Education Association and the Southern Regional Education Association, died on January 18.  He was 89.  Moffett served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a retired public school teacher.  He served as the Beach Haven public works director and sewerage authority chairman.

Roy Wimmer, a former mayor of Califon, died on January 21.  He was 77.  Wimmer served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Samuel DeLuca, who served as a North Brunswick councilman from 1990 to 1999, died on January 24.  He was 72.

Charles Moore, who served as a Park Ridge councilman, died on January 22.  He was 77.

Mary Kinnevy, a former reporter for the Ocean County Leader, died on January 24.  She was 96.  Her late husband, John Kinnevy, had served as the mayor of Brick.

Germaine Storz, a former New York Times reporter and editor, died on January 20.  She was 92.
