David Maffei, a former legislative aide to Assemblyman George Otlowski (D-Perth Amboy), died on September 17.  He was 60.  Maffei worked for Otlowski, who was also the Mayor of Perth Amboy, from 1985 to 1991, and then served as Point Pleasant Administrator and Municipal Clerk until he retired in 2015.

Michael Winkler, a former Mayor of Pennington, died on September 15.  He was 70.  A U.S. Army veteran, Winkler spent 38 years as a teacher and administrator at The Pennington School.  He was elected to the Borough Council in 1982 and 1985 and was Mayor from 1988 to 1996.

Katherine Zaluk, who served as executive secretary to the editor of The News Tribune for 25 years, died on September 17.  Zaluk worked at the News Tribune from 1976 until her retirement in 2001.

Samuel France, a former Verona councilman, died on September 7.  He was 94.  France served twelve years as a councilman.

Paul Scillia, a former Hawthorne councilman, died on September 17, 2019.

Doug Bumsted, a former Mayor of Elinboro, died on September 8.  He was 94.  A World War II Air Force veteran, Bumsted served as a councilman for nine years, including two as mayor, and served on the Elinboro Planning Board for 33 years.

Anthony Danzo, a former Commissioner of the Hunterdon County Board of Taxation, died on September 10.  He was 75.  Danzo was a prominent figure in Hunterdon Democratic politics.

Jackie Byrne, a longtime member of the Franklin Township (Somerset) Republican Club, died on September 13.  She was 87.

Adrienne Bratton, a former Point Pleasant Beach school board member, died on September 13.  She was 87.
