New Jersey’s unemployment rate continued to edge downward in August, reaching a new recorded monthly low of 3.2%.

Over the last year, the state added roughly 46,700 new jobs, with the lion’s share, about 44,000, coming from growth in New Jersey’s private sector.

The state also adjusted its unemployment estimates for July, noting the state lost roughly 3,300 jobs that month.

July’s unemployment rate remains unchanged at 3.3%.
