Jim Schroeder, who spent 22 years on the Plumsted Township Committee, including ten as mayor, died on August 9. He was 86. A member of the military police during the Korean War, Schroeder also served on the Plumsted Board of Fire Commissioners. He was first elected in 1965, winning a one-year unexpired term following the resignation of Committeeman Dayton Hopkins.
