In Memoriam

Derek Mons, who became active in Sussex GOP politics at the side of his grandfather and fought a lifetime battle with cystic fibrosis, died on May 29.  He was 45.  His grandfather, Joseph Maser, was a legendary figure in Sussex: Ogdensburg councilman, aide to Rep. Marge Roukema, president of the county tax board, and sergeant-at-arms of the New Jersey State Assembly.  He passed away at age 91 in 2014.

Richard Crea, a commissioner of the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Utilities Authority, died on May 27.  He was 79.  Crea is a U.S. Navy veteran and retired Trenton Fire Department captain.
