Richard Lehne, a longtime political science professor at Rutgers University and an advisor to Assembly Majority Leader William Hamilton (D-New Brunswick), died on March 30. He was 75. In the legislature, Lehne was the top policy expert on the effects of Robinson v. Cahill, a landmark New Jersey Supreme Court decision that mandated funding of public education.
