Middlesex County Democratic Chairman Kevin McCabe issued a statement this afternoon on the death of Assemblyman Jerry Green:

“It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Assemblyman Jerry Green this morning. Jerry was a dedicated public servant, a strong advocate for our state and a committed family man. He was also someone I considered a mentor and a friend.  On behalf of the Middlesex County Democratic Organization and the communities he represented in our county for so many years, I send my sincere condolences to his family, the City of Plainfield which he so deeply loved, Union County and the State of New Jersey, which is the better today because of Jerry Green’s service.”
