New Jersey pastors want Murphy staffer fired

By Nikita Biryukov, October 05 2018 3:48 pm

A group of evangelical leaders is calling for the removal of a Gov. Phil Murphy staffer that made anti-evangelical posts on Facebook.

Noemi Valazquez made comments on Facebook attacking Republican policymakers in Washington as “evangelical assholes” and claimed evangelicals went against the teachings of the religion’s prophet.

“We know first hand Governor Murphy’s commitment to religious freedom and building partnerships with interfaith leaders to better the lives of ALL New Jersey residents,” the New Jersey Coalition of Pastors and Ministers said in a statement. “In this spirit, our evangelical leadership asks for the immediate removal of Noemi Velazquez from his administration as her rhetoric has no place in our public discourse.”
