Gov. Phil Murphy and the state Democratic Committee will hold an invite-only reception Thursday morning at the Borgata in Atlantic City to thank those who helped the committee during the year’s election season.
Murphy will be joined by DSC Chairman John Currie, Vice Chair Lizette Delgado Polanco, and Executive Director Liz Gilbert.
The reception is meant to celebrate those that helped the committee raise almost $10 million for the year’s campaigns, not to mention other efforts that played a role in flipping at least three of New Jersey’s five Republican-held House seats.
Those efforts, which included digital ads, campaign rallies and get-out-the-vote drives, also helped flip a number of local and countywide seats, including in freeholder contests in deep-red counties like Somerset, where Democrats won spots on the board of chosen freeholders for the first time in almost 40 years.
