Helmy Departure: LeRoy Jones, Jr.

Democratic State Chairman and Essex County Democratic Chairman LeRoy Jones, Jr. issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief of staff:

“George Helmy’s tenure as Chief of Staff has been marked by an unwavering commitment to the people of New Jersey and to ensuring that our state remains a place of opportunity, fairness, and equity for all. George has been a staunch advocate for New Jersey’s values and has played a crucial role in advancing the agenda that has defined Governor Murphy’s administration. Under his stewardship, our state has made significant strides in education, healthcare, environmental protection, and social justice.

As Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, I want to express my deepest gratitude to George Helmy for his exceptional service to our state. His leadership and tireless efforts have not only strengthened our Democratic community but have also left a lasting positive impact on New Jersey. We know that his commitment to public service will continue to benefit our state in new and meaningful ways and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”
