Helmy Depature: National Action Network

Pastor Steffie Bartley, Sr. issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief of staff:

“I would like to Congratulate George Helmy on his upward move on behalf of the National Action Network (NAN) under the leadership of Rev. Al Sharpton. I am the Northeast Regional Director and it has been a pleasure working with George, he has demonstrated diversity and inclusiveness.  Now, I understand with this move, he will still play an integral part in advising the Governor.  Moving forward, the next Chief of Staff cannot fill George’s shoes, he will have to wear his own shoes.  On behalf of NAN and the Northeast Regional Director, we wish him the best.”
