Gun safety summit postponed due to Coronavirus

The Murphy administration is continuing to postpone events due to the Coronavirus.

Gov. Phil Murphy was set to welcome governors and state officials from seven states to Newark on Friday for the inaugural States for Gun Safety Summit.

This had been Murphy’s first scheduled public appearance since his surgery last week to remove a potentially cancerous tumor from his kidney.

The coalition of northeastern states was formed in 2018 to pursue a regional approach to combating gun violence.

The State Treasurer has postponed a State House subcontractors networking event that had been scheduled for Thursday.

“Treasury will be putting all of the pertinent information together into electronic format to assist interested subcontractors in taking advantage of the imminent opportunities that lie ahead, the State Treasurer’s office said.  “The department hopes to reschedule the networking portion of the event at a later date to help all goods and services contractors learn how to become certified and compete for state contracts.”
