Ciattarelli, Pappas win GOP line in Hunterdon

Hunterdon County Republicans have endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for Governor and Michael Pappas for State Senate.

Ciattarelli defeated former Franklin Mayor Brian D. Levine at the Hunterdon Republican convention tonight by what GOP County Chairman Gabe Plummer called “a clear majority of the votes cast.”

Three other candidates – social media consultant Joseph Rudy Rullo, Rev. Phil Rizzo and perennial candidate Hirsh Singh – did not participate in the convention.

A former Republican congressman, Pappas was the unanimous pick to run for the open State Senate seat in the 16th district.  Christopher Bateman (R-Branchburg) is not seeking re-election to a fifth term.

Pappas will run on the organization line with Hunterdon Central Regional Board of Education President Vincent Panico and Manville Councilman Joe Lukac.
