Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli picked up the endorsement of his home county GOP organization tonight, with Somerset County Republicans awarding him their line.
Ciattarelli won the virtual convention by acclamation against Brian D. Levine, a former Franklin mayor and Somerset County freeholder.
There was no recorded vote, so it’s not clear how many votes Levine might have received.
Three other GOP gubernatorial candidates – social media expert Joseph Rudy Rullo, Rev. Phil Rizzo and perennial candidate Hirsh Singh – did not appear at the Somerset convention.
A former three-term assemblyman, Ciattarelli carried Somerset by a 57%-26% margin when he sough the Republican nomination for governor against then-Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.
