Republican Jack Ciattarelli today filed nominating petitions with almost 3,000 signatures, becoming the first candidate for governor in either party to file.
“Thanks to thousands of Republicans from all across New Jersey who are energized by our fight to bring serious lasting change to this state, I am proud to announce that today our campaign became the first from either party to submit petition signatures that, by the way, far exceeded the minimum required to qualify for the June 10th primary,” said Ciattarelli.
The new signature requirement is 2,500, up from 1,000 under a new state law approved this year.
Ciattarelli is expected to file more signatures over the next four weeks.
“Make no mistake, we’re not done yet,” said Ciattarelli. “By the March 24th deadline, we’ll have thousands more signed up and be ready to win in June and November.”
