Sweeney launches first digital ad

Former Senate President Steve Sweeney today launched his first digital ad for his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.

In “Worth Fighting For,” Sweeney touts his support for family affordability issues and his background as a union leader, as part of a six-figure buy to kick off his gubernatorial campaign.

Script: (Steve Sweeney): “I’m Steve Sweeney. I’m running for Governor because New Jersey is worth fighting for.  (Voiceover) An Ironworker, leader of his union, and leader of New Jersey’s State Senate, Steve Sweeney has delivered for working people in New Jersey. (Sweeney) A fair minimum wage that’s indexed, so when costs go up, pay goes up; Paid family leave, so parents can be there for their children, and children can be there for their parents in their time of need, but much more needs to be done.  (Voiceover) Steve Sweeney puts working people first.  (Sweeney) That’s who I am: a fighter for everyone in New Jersey.”

Sweeney is the longest-serving legislative leader in New Jersey history and spent two decades representing parts of Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem counties in the State Senate.  He is a former Gloucester County freeholder director and a longtime ironworkers union leader.
