A group of New Jersey Democrats led by Mo Butler of Mercury Public Affairs and Brett Harwood raised about $70,000 tonight for Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s re-election campaign.

The New York City event featured an appearance by U.S. Senator Cory Booker.  Wolf, who ousted incumbent Tom Corbett in 2014, has a double-digit lead in his bid for re-election to a second term.

Essex County Freeholder President Brendan Gill, attorney Victor Herlinsky and Deepak Raj, Gov. Phil Murphy’s nominee for the State Investment Council, were among the hosts for the event at One World Trade Center.

Butler is Booker’s top political advisor, and the presence of the New Jersey Senator at the Wolf fundraiser helps Booker pick up a chit as he mulls a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
