Trump endorses Richter in NJ-3

President calls Richter a ‘job creator’

In a tweet, President Donald Trump today endorsed Republican David Richter for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.

Trump said that Richter “will be a tremendous Congressman for New Jersey.”

“He is a successful businessman and job creator, will protect our seniors and healthcare, and supports our law enforcement,” Trump tweeted.  “David has my complete and total endorsement.”

Trump also included a fundraising link for Richter’s campaign.

Kim retweeted Trump with his own link to raise money.

“Trump just endorsed my opponent David Richter who supports gutting the law that protects people with preexisting conditions,” Kim said.  “Help me fight back.”

This is Trump’s second congressional endorsement in New Jersey.

In January, Trump traveled to Wildwood to endorse Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) for re-election in the 2nd district.

Van Drew was elected to Congress as a Democrat in 2018, but switched parties after refusing to support Trump’s impeachment.

Trump helped Van Drew secure the Republican nomination, something that caused Richter to drop out of the 2nd district race and instead challenge Kim.
