House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy endorsed Rosemary Becchi’s bid to oust Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) Friday.
“Rosemary is someone with the dedication to purpose required to be an effective member of Congress and she has the right talents necessary to develop solutions to this nation’s problems and to build the type of consensus required to see those solutions come to fruition,” McCarthy said. “I am proud to endorse her run for New Jersey’s 11th District seat, where voters already are embracing her campaign and looking forward to her election in the fall.”
Becchi secured organizational support after dropping her primary challenge against State Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean and moving her bid to the 11th congressional district.
That deal saw the primary field cleared for Becchi and Kean, who is challenging Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Rocky Hill) in the state’s seventh district.
“Rosemary represents the best of what our party can offer in American leadership — a savvy, educated mother of three who understands the pressures faced by American families concerned about affordable education, healthcare and keeping their communities safe,” McCarthy said. “She also is an experienced advocate for lower taxes for families and a hard-working professional who understands what it takes to get things done in Washington.”

Uum, Becchi’s the only functional Republican in the race. Of course McCarthy will toss Becchi a cost-free endorsement.
But there will be NO national Republican money behind it. Nothing. Nothing from the NRCC or any other national Republican campaign arm. Nothing.
If NRCC or other national money comes into NJ for a Republican, it will be for Kean and Van Drew. Rosemary Becchi won’t see a dime.
