South Jersey building trades backs Harrison

The Southern New Jersey Building Trades Council has endorsed Brigid Callahan Harrison for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd district.

The council is made up of 15 building trades unions in five South Jersey counties,

“Brigid stands head and shoulders above the rest. She has a command of the issues that matter to our members that no other candidate has. She is the most qualified and electable candidate, and she has a track record of advocating for working men and women and supporting organized labor,” said United Camden and Vicinity Building Trades Council President Dan Cosner. “She stands with our members on key issues that are important to them include fair wages, affordable health care and increasing economic opportunity for South Jersey residents through journey-level training and apprenticeship programs.”

The local council includes the Electrical Workers, Sheet Metal Workers, Laborers, Bricklayers, Plasterers & Cement Masons, Roofers, Operating Engineers, Teamsters. Boilermakers, Elevator Constructors, Painters, Pipe Trades, Ironworkers, Carpenters and Insulators in Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

“For years, Brigid has demonstrated a commitment to improving lives the working men and women of South Jersey,” Cosner said. “Brigid shares the values of improving the lives of members of the Building Trades, and we know that when she is elected, we will have a true friend of organized labor who will prioritize the needs of working families in Congress.”
