Sherrill named NDC freshman whip

By David Wildstein, January 24 2019 2:53 pm

Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) has been named freshman whip of the House New Democrat Coalition (NDC), a group of moderate, pro-growth Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The group has 98 members, the second largest caucus in the House behind the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Three other New Jersey congressmen – Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff), Tom Malinowski (D-Rocky Hill), and Donald Norcross (D-Camden) – are also members of the NDC.

Norcross is also the vice chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.   Reps. Andy Kim (D-Marlton), Frank Pallone (D-Long Branch) and Bonnie Watson Coleman are members of that group.
