Pallone: Watson Coleman may get new committee assignment

Congressman chairs Energy and Commerce Committee

Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman may receive a new committee assignment later this month, Rep. Frank Pallone said at a Middlesex County reorganization meeting Monday evening.

“We got some special ideas for Bonnie in terms of maybe being on a different committee,” Palone.

Pallone is chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Former New Jersey Rep. Leonard Lance previously sat on the committee, but he was unseated by Rep. Tom Malinowski.

Pallone told the New Jersey Globe in December that while it’s unlikely for any of the state’s four first-term congresspeople to secure a spot on the committee, it’s possible that another representative in the state secures a spot on the powerful committee.

Both Watson Coleman and Pallone represent portions of Middlesex County.
