“Chairman Cummings’ unwavering commitment to our country and to the people of Baltimore serves as a model to all those who aspire to serve,” Sherrill said. “A civil rights pioneer and a fierce advocate for justice, he spent his life advocating on behalf of others. His vision for a better America will be sorely missed, and my thoughts are with his family and the Baltimore community today.”
