The Republican mayor of Knowlton Township endorsed Rep. Gottheimer’s reelection campaign Thursday.

“I am here today, in short, because it’s my job, as mayor, to get things done for my town,” Mayor Adele Starrs said. “The Congressman is actually making that possible for me and the mayors of the small towns around us. He has established an active working relationship with the mayors of small towns, and he has given local leaders opportunities that actually help us make progress on issues that our residents care deeply about.”

Gottheimer is co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, which seeks to break partisan gridlock in the country’s capital.

He’s running for a second term against attorney John McCann.
