The New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Rep. Chris Smith for re-election to a 20th term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“This endorsement is based on your support for issues that are beneficial to the FOP,” said Martin Fox, the FOP president.
Smith has already received the backing of the New Jersey State PBA and the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association.
He faces Democrat Josh Welle, who has raised $1.3 million — more than any challenger has brought in since his first election to the House in 1980.
