Democrat Tom Malinowski has won the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Action Fund in his challenge to five-term Republican Rep. Leonard Lance in New Jersey’s 7th district.
“New Jersey deserves a representative that will fight for women and families,” said Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Tom Malinowski knows that unfettered access to preventive care and the full range of reproductive health care – including safe, legal abortion – is a fundamental right that makes our families healthier and communities stronger.”
Malinowski, a former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State in the Obama administration, said he was “proud to have the support of Planned Parenthood Action Fund.”
“Access to reproductive health care in all its forms is the right of all people and improves health outcomes for all people.” said Malinowski. “We must protect, preserve, and expand access to comprehensive women’s health services, and demand accountability from our representatives.”
Malinowski faces attorney Goutam Jois and 2016 nominee Peter Jacob in the June Democratic primary.
