Pallotta attacks Gottheimer over response to tracker

Congressman took phone call over answering operative’s impeachment question

National Republicans are pushing an attack against Rep. Josh Gottheimer over the congressman’s response to a GOP tracker.

In a video posted to Youtube, a tracker is heard asking Gottheimer whether he supports impeachment.

Gottheimer then answers a phone call that Republicans claim never came.

“Let’s face it: Josh has been faking it with NJ-05 voters all along,” GOP challenger Frank Pallotta said. “At home, he plays the bipartisan choir boy and when he goes to Washington, he becomes Nancy Pelosi’s lap dog. If Josh can’t answer a simple question about where he stands, how can you expect him to stand up for you?”

A Twitter made by the National Republican Congressional Committee echoed the same sentiment.

Gottheimer has previously said he would wait until the conclusion of the House’s impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump before making up his mind on further impeachment proceedings.
