Unlike a number of his Republican colleagues in the state, Rep. Frank Pallone isn’t facing much of a challenge for his seat this year, so he’s turned his attention to helping the state’s Democratic House hopefuls.
“I’ve been trying to help all of them because I think they all can win, and I think that every one of them has a good chance of defeating the Republican,” Pallone said, referring to the Democrats chasing the state’s five Republican seats.
Pallone said that he’s been helping those candidates fundraise in addition to providing support through other means, though he did not expand upon what those means were.
Most recently Pallone helped former Assistant Secretary of State Tom Malinowski, who is challenging Rep. Leonard Lance, raise some funds during an event in Highland Park at which Pallone spoke.
He’d also recently held a Washington fundraiser for Mikie Sherrill, who faces Assemblyman Jay Webber for retiring Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s seat.
Pallone didn’t appear to be focusing on any particular candidates with his efforts, and he said that he had held fundraisers for all five, either in New Jersey or in the country’s capital.
