Roughly one month after he joined the campaign, Thomas Dees has departed from his role as Seth Grossman’s campaign manager.
Grossman on told the Globe on Monday that the departure was not the result of any kind of feud.
“He wanted to work on another campaign, and I was ok with it,” Grossman said.
Grossman is currently searching for a replacement for Dees, who worked as youth director for now-Minnesota Rep. Jason Lewis in 2016.
At the time, Lewis faced fire for remarks about slavery made on his radio show that the congressman claimed were taken out of context. Lewis’s troubles at the time are not dissimilar to Grossman’s now.
“We have an abundance of people, and we’ll be working that out over the next week,” Grossman said of a replacement campaign manager.
In the meantime, Carla Alburger will serve as the campaign’s office manager, while Fernando Fernandez will serve as its field manager.
