Leaders of the progressive wing of the New Jersey Democratic Party continue to give early support to Norcross’ re-election, seemingly closing the door on a possible challenge to him in the 2020 Democratic primary in New Jersey’s 1st district.
New Jersey CWA State Director Hetty Rosenstein and New Jersey Education Association President Marie Blistan co-hosted a a high-dollar fundraiser last month.
Gov. Phil Murphy has already endorsed his re-election.
Norcross faced a challenge in the 2016 Democratic primary from a supporter of Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign, Alex Law. He won by 32,767 votes, a margin of 70%-30%.
