Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) will win a 13th term in Congress, the New Jersey Globe projects.
He will defeat Republican challenger Billy Prempeh, whose longshot House bid was best known for his embrace of QAnon, a baseless conspiracy that spuriously claims Democrats opposed to President Donald Trump are operating a global sex trafficking ring.
Pascrell’s victory was never really in question. Republicans last won a race in the eighth district in 1981.
With his seat beyond the threat of a Republican challenge, Pascrell has emerged as one of New Jersey’s staunchest Trump critics, going after the president’s tax returns and a top Trump donor’s management of the U.S. Postal Service.
