Conservative radio host Mark Levin has endorsed Steve Lonegan for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th district.

Lonegan, a former mayor of Bogota, faces former Cresskill councilman John McCann in Tuesday’s primary for the chance to face freshman Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in the fall.

“So, Lonegan is a solid conservative; he’s been a solid conservative his entire life. Many of you know who he is even though many of you are outside of New Jersey, most of you are outside of New Jersey, know who he is; he’s been on before,” Levin said. “But he’s been a solid Reaganite and Trump supporter from day one. He ran against Cory Booker and gave him a good run for his money considering how little support he had from certain segments of the Republican Party. “

Levin used his show to excoriate McCann.

“[Steve’s] opponent…puts up these vicious, vicious ads, and the jackass wants to come on my show. No, no pal. McCann is his name. I’m not required to put you on this show, and I’m not putting you on this show unless you want to be eviscerated,” Levin said on his show last night.  “So, Lonegan’s running in the Republican primary, this guy comes in, he’s spending a fortune just smearing the hell out of him. Smearing the hell out of him.”

  1. NJ keeps biting itself — You gotta wonder how long it can last. Stupid voters reign. They voted for Christie too.
