Democratic congressional candidate Tom Malinowski has won the endorsement of the Middlesex-Somerset Central Labor Council.

“The affiliated locals of the Middlesex-Somerset Central Labor Council are proud to recommend Tom Malinowski for AFL-CIO endorsement,” said Council President Wayne Martiak.

The Republican incumbent Malinowski wants to unseat, five-term Rep. Leonard Lance, has the backing of the New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council.

“I take great pride in receiving the support of our area Central Labor Council. Workers rights are under siege in this country and I am committed to partnering with the New Jersey AFL-CIO to ensure this district’s hard working men and women get a fair deal,” remarked Malinowski. “A living wage, a safe and discrimination free workplace, and the ability to negotiate for a better quality of life should be the right of all people.”

Malinowski faces attorney Goutam Jois and 2016 nominee Peter Jacob in Tuesday’s Democratic primary in New Jersey’s 7th district.
