Lobbyist Tiffany Kaszuba officially announced her fourth-district House bid Monday.
“With my experience working on a bipartisan basis to advance issues, I am ready to be the advocate this district needs and am committed to doing the work it will take to unseat Chris Smith,” Kaszuba said.
The last remaining sitting Republican congressman in New Jersey, Rep. Chris Smith has represented the fourth congressional district since 1981.
Smith beat Democratic candidate Josh Welle 163,065 votes to 126,766, scoring a 12-point victory amidst a nationwide wave of Democratic wins.
Kaszuba faces two opponents in her bid to win the Democratic nod.
Former State Department foreign services officer Stephanie Schmid and former journalist David Applefield are also seeking the nomination.
